📰 Introduction
In a world marked by visible and invisible borders, TSIMAG / WAAIMAG – Todos Somos Inmigrantes / We Are All Immigrants – was born. This humanist, digital, and global magazine seeks to give voice, dignity, and humanity back to those who cross borders.
We spoke with its founder and director, Roth Amm, about the origin, mission, and hope that drives this unprecedented publishing project.
1️⃣ How did the idea for TSIMAG / WAAIMAG come about?
Roth Amm:
The magazine was born from life itself. It was born from pain, injustice, but also from hope.
For years I saw how the word “immigrant” became synonymous with fear, prejudice, or borders. But behind that word are faces, dreams, and sacrifices.
I wanted to create a space where these stories could be told with respect, truth, and beauty. This is how TSIMAG / WAAIMAG was born: as a voice for those who are rarely heard.
2️⃣ What is the magazine's main mission?
Roth Amm:
Our mission is to humanize migration. To show that immigrants are not statistics or headlines, but an essential part of society.
We want to inspire empathy, promote education, justice, and coexistence.
And we also want to change the narrative: to demonstrate that migration is not a crime, it is a human right and, often, a necessity.
3️⃣ Why the name “One Humanity”?
Roth Amm:
Because it sums it all up.
“One Humanity” is a symbol, a character, and a philosophy. It represents the collective voice of those who believe that dignity has no passport.
It is the spirit that guides our magazine: impartial, wise, poetic, and profoundly human.
When we say “We Are All Immigrants,” we mean that we have all, at some point or place, sought a new beginning.
4️⃣ What role do immigrants play in today's economy and society?
Roth Amm: A fundamental one. Immigrants sustain entire sectors: health, agriculture, construction, caregiving, culture.
Many are skilled professionals who accept jobs that others reject, and yet they still contribute with talent, taxes, and diversity.
Without immigrants, Spain and Europe would grind to a halt. But beyond the economy, immigrants bring something immeasurable: resilience and the will to live.
5️⃣ What sets TSIMAG / WAAIMAG apart from other media outlets?
Roth Amm: We are not a media outlet to talk about immigrants; we are a media outlet with and for them.
Our newsroom is multicultural. We listen to those who have lived the journey, those who work with migrant communities, and those who defend human rights.
Furthermore, we combine journalism, art, education, advocacy, and solidarity.
We want to be a bridge, not a barricade.
6️⃣ How can readers participate?
Roth Amm: In many ways: by submitting their stories, volunteering, sharing knowledge, donating, or simply reading with an open heart.
Our website has interactive sections, campaigns, forums, and cultural spaces.
Every click, every word shared, is a step toward a more united humanity.
7️⃣ What do you dream of achieving with this magazine in the coming years?
Roth Amm: I dream of seeing TSIMAG / WAAIMAG become a global benchmark for humanist journalism.
I dream that schools will use it to teach empathy, that politicians will read it before passing laws, that migrant families will feel represented.
Above all, I dream that one day we will no longer have to say “We Are All Immigrants”… because we will all have learned to live as One Humanity.
